Bespoke Landscape Photography Tours of Wales

Join me, Brad Carr, for an unforgettable photography tour of the ancient landscape of Wales. Allow me to guide you to some of the most magical and mystical corners of this beautiful, sacred country and equip you with a new lens that will transform the way in which you see the world.

These aren’t just your standard tours of Wales, these experiences are designed to completely transform the way in which you create photographs as I strive to empower you to become a storyteller of the modern age, weaving together legendary tales of your own to carry forth for future generations.

In 2024, I was invited to join the ranks of one of the worlds’ leading photography tour guide and tutoring companies, Light & Land. I now run a range of group photography tours and workshops annually for them, all of which can be found here. I am incredibly proud that my expertise within the art of photography and of this ancient landscape has been recognised by a global authority within the world of photography tuition and tour guiding.

  • Brad’s style of teaching is that of a coach that wants to help you get the best out of your own vision and art. This is not about telling you what to do, it is about asking you to think about why you are taking that particular picture and how you might improve it. This is for those who really want to take their photography to a new level of meaning and thinking. I made me realise that the most important part of the experience is to be out in nature and to try and use my photography to share the benefits of how this makes me feel.

  • I recently had the opportunity to spend a day with Brad for a one-to-one day at Lake Vyrnwy, and it was an incredibly productive experience. Brad had done his homework and put a lot of effort into creating a custom plan that perfectly matched my shooting style and workflow.

What impressed me most was his decision to leave his own camera behind, which allowed him to focus entirely on my work. This is something I hadn’t seen before, and it made a significant difference. He constantly encouraged me to think about what I was doing, how and why, pushing me to explore different perspectives and techniques.

The day was well-structured yet flexible, and I appreciated the emphasis on practical learning. It was a valuable session that has left a lasting impact on my photography.

  • Brad is as wonderful of a teacher as he is a photographer. I have had both a 1-1 lesson as well as a workshop with Brad where I experienced consistent attention, personalised feedback and a friendly atmosphere. Brad's philosophy and dedication to photography is admirable, and I couldn't recommend him enough if you're thinking of developing your landscape photography.

Get to Know Me - Watch My Feature Film

In August 2024, I spent a couple of days with fellow photographer and filmmaker Murray Livingston. We sat down for an interview in my office and then ventured out into the landscape on the hunt for photographs. Murray captured some impressive footage of me roaming the landscape and weaved it together with the interview to tell my story. The result was this brilliantly produced feature film about my life and photography journey so far.

Explore Ancient Eryri (Snowdonia) for stories

We can explore some of Snowdonia’s (Eryri’s) lesser-trodden footpaths, losing ourselves to a land that time forgot as we wander amongst ancient, gnarled oaks and silver birch trees, meditate beside tranquil waters and roam beneath mountains where a legendary dragon was once born. Snowdonia has had me entranced for seven years now, and I never fail to find new stories to tell of this magnificent landscape. Rich in folklore and history, every corner holds a tale. Follow in the footsteps of giants, wander the hilltops with wizards, and scour one of the national parks’ serene mountain lakes on the hunt for King Arthur’s legendary sword, Excalibur. I’ll be on hand to share stories of my own from this deeply rich and spiritual land, whilst weaving in legendary stories from the past to inspire you during your time with me.

Roam the Hills and Valleys of Mid Wales

Follow me into the heart of Wales; a landscape that is often overlooked as visitors so often choose to flock to the mountains of north Wales or golden beaches and cliffs of Pembrokeshire. Mid Wales is charming, peaceful and still relatively untapped in terms of photography potential, although, over the past seven years, I have been doing all that I can to showcase my homeland in its’ best light. Tree-lined rivers, abandoned castles, and rolling hills await you in the land that the world has seemingly forgotten.

Search the South for timeless tales

Take a minute to write an introduction that is short, sweet, and to the point. If you sell something, use this space to describe it in detail The landscape of South Wales really does have it all: golden sand beaches, rugged cliffs, charming mountains and enchanted lakes. As much as I have preferred spending my time around the ancient and mythical landscape of Snowdonia over the past few years, the south has provided me with many unforgettable adventures and photographs that will last a lifetime. Also rich with ancient, mystical woodlands, a tour of Wales would not be complete without a visit to this beautiful part of this magical country.
