I come to photography with a history of coaching. I began my journey to develop the human being back in sixth form when I enrolled onto the Sports Leadership Award and ventured into a local primary school to deliver weekly practical sports sessions. I loved it. From a young age, I have enjoyed giving back and passing on the skills that I have accrued.

In my mid-twenties, I became a football coach for an academy in Wales, and worked with a team of Under 16’s. Following that, I became a personal trainer, and worked with clients on a one to one basis to help them achieve their fitness goals. I have carried many of these skills into my career as a photography tutor, and I have so far gained some truly wonderful reviews from the clients that I have worked with over the past few years. You can read some of their words below - I’ll let them blow the trumpet to save my lungs! My skills have also been recognised by the prestigious Light & Land to whom I now offer my services as a tutor.

I have a genuine passion to see people grow in both confidence and ability. My partner tells me that I am a ‘sower’ because I am constantly planting seeds into people with the words that I speak. I have had a keen interest in psychology since I embarked upon my own bodybuilding journey back in 2017, which, funnily enough, was where my photography journey began. I took photographs and made videos of myself ‘pumping iron’ to tell a story of transformation and personal growth. This is where my love of ‘planting seeds’ began as I took to my journal to begin planting them in myself.

Over the past eight years, I have observed, as objectively as possible, my own personal growth through the work that I have been doing in the pages of my journal, under the bars at the gym, and in the recesses of my own mind. I now use what I have learnt to aid other people in their own growth journey - and the camera, I have found is such a wonderful tool for personal and spiritual growth.

I refuse to be an artist that loses himself to the ever-hungry ego that is lurking in the shadows and waiting to pounce when I allow any praise and adulation to go to my head. I do what I can to keep that in check. If I do ever fail to do so, I know that my partner won’t be far away waiting with a barrage of words that won’t be too sweet.

I do not seek to simply empower myself through my workshops by constantly criticising people and telling them that they must do things my way. I have my approach to photography and a vision that I have worked hard to find. Some people like it, others don’t. The key for me is that I like the photographs that I create - they each tell a story of my own and offer something deeper for my viewer than a representation of a time or a place.

It is my aim to be the kind of ‘teacher’ that can guide you to your own place of contentment and fulfilment with the photographs that you create. The key word here being ‘you’. There is only one of you, and that is all there ever will be. You came here and have, so far, experienced life in a completely different way to what I have. That means that you have a song of your own in your heart that is waiting to be sung. Through conversation and curious exploration (of both the landscapes’ inside and out), I hope that you will gain confidence in your own vision, and reach a place of greater awareness of yourself and your own art.

There are no ‘failures’ - just lessons. Each photograph is another brick in the wall of what might, one day, become a kingdom. I strive to create a container for child-like curiosity, experimentation, imagination and wonder. My workshops are a safe space for the expression of your full being. Bring all of you, explore untrodden footpaths in conversation, create meaningful photographs and, something that my mother would always say when I left the house: ‘have fun!’ So we certainly won’t be forgetting to enjoy some laughter along the way.

‘‘I recently had the opportunity to spend a day with Brad for a one-to-one day at Lake Vyrnwy, and it was an incredibly productive experience. Brad had done his homework and put a lot of effort into creating a custom plan that perfectly matched my shooting style and workflow.

What impressed me most was his decision to leave his own camera behind, which allowed him to focus entirely on my work. This is something I hadn’t seen before, and it made a significant difference. He constantly encouraged me to think about what I was doing, how and why, pushing me to explore different perspectives and techniques.

The day was well-structured yet flexible, and I appreciated the emphasis on practical learning. It was a valuable session that has left a lasting impact on my photography.’’

I attended a photography workshop with Brad in some beautiful woodland in Mid Wales. We met just in time to catch the prettiest sunrise. I’m a novice & nearly always shoot with my DSLR in a manual setting. Brad helped me to understand my cameras various features, his explanations were clear & easy to understand. Throughout the lesson he was approachable & attentive. I don’t have an expensive camera, but I’m really happy with the shots I came away with. It’s opened my eyes to what I can achieve with it & I’m looking forward to putting some of my new found knowledge into practice. If you want to discover or develop your photography in a friendly & relaxed environment, I can thoroughly recommend Brad & his workshop

Our recent workshop with Brad was an eyeopener. I was already into woodland photography, but Brad helped to link emotion and being-in-nature into our photography images.

Brad made the time to make sure everybody in our group had some 1-to-1 time to talk about our images and how they made us feel.

I would 100% recommend. Many thanks.

Coming on this workshop really made me see how people like Brad, with such a passion and skill in photography truly enjoy sharing their knowledge, skills and techniques. No question was ever too much and Brad was always happy to go as much into depth as needed to help understand what I had asked. A superb morning full of discussion, skill sharing and in a beautiful location! 5*

What a fantastic morning we had! When I first heard the workshop was an hour away from home starting at 5.30am I was a bit unsure but, by god was it worth it. Brad sure knows his stuff and you can tell how enthusiastic he is about photography and trees. The whole morning was laid back, none of this talking at you and expecting you to remember things. Brad was very patient, took time with each of us individually and has a knack of explaining things in simple terms that we can all understand. All in all a fantastic morning. Thank you Brad

Brad is as wonderful of a teacher as he is a photographer. I have had both a 1-1 lesson as well as a workshop with Brad where I experienced consistent attention, personalised feedback and a friendly atmosphere. Brad's philosophy and dedication to photography is admirable, and I couldn't recommend him enough if you're thinking of developing your landscape photography.
