Epic Nant Ffrancon Circular

£1.95

Explore one of Snowdonia’s greatest regions in this circular walk that will provide some of the best scenery in the National Park. Take in the views of the monstrous ridge shaped mountain, Tryfan, hike beneath the foot of the dominant, pyramidal shaped Pen yr Ole Wen which forms the head of the Carneddau mountain range and roam around a lake that was once visited for research purposes by Charles Darwin. To top it all off, you’ll have dinner with the devil as you wander into the legendary and unmistakeable rock formation; the Devil’s Kitchen aka Twll Du (Black Hole).

This is a fairly easy hike apart from the middle stretch that takes you up into the Devil’s Kitchen, at which point you will need a reasonable level of mountain fitness to reach the lake at the top. If your a fan of wild swimming, this would make a perfect spot for lunch and an afternoon dip.

*Recommended to use with the official OS Maps app. Purchase the premium subscription for optimal use but not necessary. Downloadable map is also compatible with the Viewranger app.
